| | | Driving Instructor Academy | | | | In addition to being a highly successful Driving School, the Independent School of Motoring also specialises in training prospective Driving Instructors to reach the Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) standards demanded by the Road Safety Authority through its 3-part examination procedure. | | | | The intensive two-week course is run from 10am to 5pm daily (there is flexibility to suit individual needs, if required) and comprises 3 parts: | | | | | | | | One of the course's outstanding features is 'one-to-one tuition' which sets it apart from other driving instructor courses.
At the end of the course, trainee instructors will have been trained up to the RSA's standards and will be assessed to address any weaknesses before being formally examined. On successful completion, trainees can then apply to sit the compulsory RSA examination to gain the qualification needed to work as an Approved Driving Instructor.
Full back-up is provided all the way through the RSA exam process including extra training, if required, at no extra charge. Such is the Academy's confidence in teaching parts 2 + 3 (practical driving and instructional ability) that if they are failed, it will cover the costs of re-application. (Trainees only pay for failing part 1 - Theory - as this is outside the Academy's control).
Cost: €3,500 - including 2-weeks intensive training course + ADI exam + certificate.
As a testimony to the course's effectiveness, a number of Instructors trained by the Independent School of Motoring's Driving Instructor Academy over the past 12 years have gone on to establish their own driving schools.
